Welcome students of 5C at the Columbus School!
For virtual day Friday, November 12, 2010, your assignment is to find and describe one problem that the tundra faces that is causing the animals and plants to suffer. In one paragraph, you must answer the following questions:
1) What is the problem?
2) What causes the problem?
3) What are the effects of the problem?
4) What can we do to stop the problem from getting worse?
Go to different websites and find out about a problem facing the Tundra. Try coming up with a different kind of problem (not the same as other students).
The problem is that animals are dying.We cause the problem because we drill in the smooth surface of the tundra.The effects of the problem are that if you drill in the permafrost of a tundra some nests of animals like migrating birds would be destroyed

sincerely i was so sad when my mom was diagnosed with ALS before November of 2018, since the prognosis she has lost the ability to speak, struggles to chew and swallow, her arm strength is minimal on her best days and she’s loosing control of her balance and neck muscles. We can helped animals in the tundra, by not smoking and stop to work the factories so we wont contaminate the world.

ReplyDeleteWe have to help animals of the tundra. What's happening it's that by global warming animals are diening and with polution. we can cure this by using little a very amount little cars in factories don't use too much smokeof factories and cars.
The problem is that global warming is doing a lot of damage to the tundra. Cars and smoke are causing the polution. The effects are that the temperature is higher so snow melts and the animals die. Not using so much the cars, The factory dont produce so much smoke.

If the tundra melts the tundra animals would die and that would change the world. We could stop the problem getting worst by saving the world ( reciclyng, save trees, less smoke, less petrolium and ect.)

People that work in oil companies are making a lot of buildings. Before doing the building they need to cut the plants that are in the area where they are going to cosntruct. After they construct, animals that are migrating can´t go that way so they can stay without food and die. Another thing that can happen is that animals can freeze and die. We can stop this problem by not getting oil from the tundra.
ReplyDeleteAnother big problem is that when people are getting oil sometimes the oil spills on the tundra an into the sea killing animals and plants. We can stop this problem by not getting oil from the tundra.
Another problem is that in the tundra there are some species that just exist there. Hunters like to go and hunt the animals that just exist there. This is causing a lot of species to be endangered. Some of these species are the artic fox, the wolves and the moose. We can stop this by not hunting animals in the tundra.

The problem is that some people don't care about animals and they kill the animals. This is caused because people thinkanimals are not important. The effects are that animals will get extinct and the earth will start colapcing. To stop this we need to treet animals good because they also have a live.

ReplyDeleteBelow the tundra there is a layer called permafrost. Some of the world's big problems start here.
One of the big problems of the tundra start in Alaska with the oil companies. The oil companies produce much of the oil for the continent for this they need to build roads. The roads and the cars and trucks on the roads which produce smoke create a pollution problem and cause global warming.
The effects of the problem are:animals will die,the temperature will go up and the glaciars will melt. The tundra may disappear and there will be a lot of pollution on earth.
We can prevent this problem by not drilling and building in the tundra zone.

ReplyDeleteHunting is a problem in the tundra, because some rare species are only in the tundra, so that is why hunters go there. The effects of hunting is that some cute animals can get endangered like artic foxes, moose and wolves are in danger too. We can tell people the problem of the tundra and the effects, doing a group in facebook that is named save the animals in the tundra, don’t go hunting there.

The problem is that the Tundra cold floors are starting to melt and that makes the Tundra animals die. What causes this problem is the amount of smoke we produce, that makes the global warming stronger and stronger, that means that if the hot sun gets very very hot the worlds Tundra Biome can disapear. We can help this biome to live if we creat ecological machines, that we can work with.

The problem is tha animals are drilling. we cause the problem becase we drill the surfurce of the tundra. The affect of the is that in the tundra the birds nest are going to distroy. We can stop the problem by not drilling tundras.
